RELIGIONISTS

Lordy - how I resent religionists -

Brainwashed to believe

From kiddies with no understanding

To adults practising to deceive.;

They even murder for myth and stories!

From centuries past to present day,

With made-up stuff and imagined glories.

Their Once Upon A Time holds sway -

And religionists still kill - and pray!

You are correct MC. The desire to impose our views on others seems inbuilt in the human DNA. I am right and I want you to agree with me reigns. Society has, and will continue to suffer while this trait continues.

Thanks for the comments and the likes. If only those with religious
tendencies understood their belief to be a purely personal thing -
not intended to be imposed on the lives of others, the world would
be a better place IMHO.

A keenly observed poem. Dogma does seem to be in the ascendant, doesn't it? We live in troubled times. Nicely written.

Nice writing. More people have been killed in the names of various religions than for any other reason I would think!

MC. such a short poem but it said so much.

I so agree with you - children should be taught humanist values - they are relevant to every one.

M:C.,

A brief but good and relevant poem. Few religionists seem to realise that God gave us brains to think with. We are not called to be robots. Thank God for the enquiring mind and free thinkers.
