Kids should always have someone they can look up to and believe,

To follow a path they can stride down and achieve.

Unsure at first as all teenagers are,

But by the flick of a switch they can become a star.

 

An animal lover and a qualified vet,

Success on the track Laura Muir has met.

Steady and sustained progress over the past

One or two knocks out of the way she did cast.

 

Petite and demure two gold medals she did win,

In Glasgow her home ground,in front of  her kith and kin.

In 2017 Laura had won the 1500 and 3000 metres in Belgrade,

The first athlete to win the double double,she was made !

 

Training on the snow when her toes would become numb,

The poster girl of Glasgow she was soon to become.

Laura delivered in front of her home crowd.

An ambition of which she was really proud.

 

On her home track two  gold medals in three days,

Laura's legs,lungs and determination,let us praise.
