Australian Humour

Australian Humour

Australian humour's dry-like

Dry and droll's can be

And as I am Australian

That's what you'll get from me

The humour which I give out

At times is hard to follow

Now Don you must be kidding me

That's really hard to swallow

You think the python snake

Which ate someone's pet cat

Is just a joke that I made up?

It grabbed it from its mat

So am I telling porkies?

Or am I telling truth?

In actual fact it's very true

I don't believe you. Strewth!

These lines bring to mind the YouTube video of a US (?) rat snake
stalking a faun while a large farm cat stalks the snake which eventually departs the scene. Any snake that takes on a cat is
risking injury via very sharp little teeth and claws...hard to swallow,
I'd have thought.

Well as a fellow Aussie I'm biased here Don. Thanks for this ode to Aussie humour (and larrikins).
