Their is no win or lose
All that stands between them
Are different point of views
This site is full of options
Many things the poet can choose
Different styles of writing
Each individual poet may use
Many themes
Many dreams
And many more in-betweens
Thank you all for sharing
You're all amazing writing machines
The words are heartfelt with much relevance to the art we enjoy.
But poetry can also allow a writer to put across a point of view
that might be contrary to his/her own...not a bad thing if it gets
people thinking. Its appeal is that it can be all things to all people
and serve a multitude of purposes in the process. Would we think
less of Masefield's "Sea Fever" if, for example, he was a devout landlubber? ?

And I totally agree with you about the expression of one's self in the art of writing. This sight is indeed full of many talented creative poet's. I doubt most do not see what the readers do, they may assume they are in fact not absolutely spectacular in their writing capabilities!! and I felt the need to emphasize the fact that they are. ??
Belief of one's self is not mastered by many and I believe it's highly important to remind soul's of their incredible gifts at any given opportunity.

I do tend to only write about things that really happened, im not so much a fictional writer but more so, a writer about the past and present and sometimes future ?

In the over all scheme of things, rhyme, don't rhyme, don't fret over spellings don't concentrate on one style or another unless you want to, because it all just interferes with the flow and like you said, "It's not a competition."
The thing I love about your work is it has genuine heart. Beautiful, honest, heart. That's a rare thing and something to be cherished.?

Agreed MC. I believe all written work holds some kind of wisdom regardless of what kind of theme or thoughts it carrys.
We all bring amazing different styles to the table and each one is admired for what it stands for.
I hope each one of you never stop writing ?
