The Totter From Toulouse

The Totter From Toulouse  by KJ Walker

a re-post. (Poetry for Schools)

He had ten ton of turnips

In the turn-ups of his trews

His beard was bathed in Bakelite

And hung down to his shoes

A wicked watch fob weighed his weskit

His hanky blew the blues

He trudged from Treen to Tottenham

………. The Totter from Toulouse

He went in… the outdoor… backwards

To read tomorrows news

He had a love for alcohol

But couldn’t stand the booze

He resprayed Reynard’s rainbow

In psychedelic hues

And mooched up to the moon and back

………. The Totter from Toulouse

His head was bald and shiny

Though his hair hung, lank and loose

He kept a mallard in his pocket

To pacify his goose

He’d brook no truck with Teddy boys

Though he did wear blue suede shoes

You’ll know him if you see him

………. The Totter from Toulouse

Thanks Jason, Frances, John, Jennifer, M.C., and Po.
I wrote this one about a year ago, and I really don't know what I was thinking about.
Hopefully the kids will enjoy it.
