Winter Winds

Oh how the wind in sky of bitter cold

curls round the corners of our very souls

its chill makes trembling in our bones

we shiver in our boots from head to toe

For in the path of winter wind is borne

the frigid ice of country to the north

which rattles trees, shakes loose their leaves

whisks warmth away down deserted streets

Now listen to the wind, its ghostly howl

echos in our ears, its curse is foul

as bitter cold permeates our chests,

we seek shelter from these winter blasts

Winter winds are jealous of us, we conclude

where warmth is, they dare not intrude.
