LiveCanon 2018 Christmas Poetry Treasure Hunt!

entry picture

Tomorrow is the first day of December... and that means it is time for the LiveCanon Poetry Treasure Hunt to start. So if you would like to take part, make sure you are signed up, and poems will start arriving in your inbox. A poem a day might just be even more exciting than the chocolate in your advent calendar...

Livecanon are an ensemble performing poetry at theatres, festivals and events throughout the UK... recording poetry for radio and CDs... creating poetry installations and digital projects... publishing poetry... and working with young people to create, explore and enjoy poems...

All the Poetry Treasure Hunt info is here.  If you'd like to buy a ticket and gift it to a friend, read on for instructions...

You can take part in the Treasure Hunt from anywhere in the world. Each day in December you will receive an email. It will introduce you to the work of a particular poet, with a biography, examples of their work and links to videos and audio recordings. You'll then have to solve a clue, by hunting in the work of the poet.

You'll need all the answers at the end of the month to answer the final clue. Don't worry if you get behind by a day (or a week)... you can catch up at the end of the month.

This is a great way to pack some poetry reading into your Christmas, discover new poets, have fun (and get incredibly competitive with your mates/ family/ colleagues). It is also a great way for Live Canon to raise some money for workshops for young people and their children's poetry competition - so thank you to everyone who takes part. Tickets are £15 per person.

If you want to gift a ticket to a friend, buy the ticket, and then email LiveCanon with the details of the person you would like the gift sent to. They'll make sure all the clues are sent to them.

If you've taken part in the treasure hunt before and enjoyed it, then please help spread the word.  Encourage friends and family to sign up and then you can get truly competitive with them...

Good luck!
