We Hear Your Protest Poet

We Hear Your Protest Poet

What's the use of protest

In my poetry

It won't make any difference

I'm not naïve, you see

People have their minds set

On what they want to do

My verse it will not change them

Neither will yours too

They might consider what we

Think before they act

But change their minds we hope to?

We're wasting time. A fact.

Take me, I'm just a poet

In the wilderness

No-one taking notice

Of what I say, address

We hear your protest poet

You may not change the world

But bring your thoughts out, write them

And see what might unfurl

But it has potential
To be influential,
Though you may never ever find
What effect it has on someone's mind!

The age-old question Don of whether the pen is mightier than the sword.
