My humor

never goes away

despite time

or maturity

 

it is a long-term condition

to which I am afflicted

some would say I am addicted

I cannot break the habit

 

it has never subsided

in fact seems to have grown worse

with age

 

the condition requires

constant monitoring

my wife being the one

who monitors

 

she says there is no hope

of recovery

that the condition will last

until I die or

until I am shot

 

whichever comes first

her call.
