Moon Shadows

Moon Shadows

I saw through eyes shining with unshed tears,
a shadowy figure still..waiting,
My heart heavy with sorrow for what could have been.
Dreams of yesterday held within a mind of today.
Lost in a maze of confusion and doubts, silently screaming.

I am a  land vast, empty, void, a barren wasteland.
Shadows lurk waiting for the weak to fall..
I cannot fall, for if I fall it is the end..the emptiness will always remain.
The shadow will pass over me consuming me as it drifts across our lives.
Questions cannot be answered if there is no one to ask.

It is a question of identity, I remain identity unknown.

Nice. I read it out loud. It flows so well and has such impact.

Sounds like a poem I have prepped for my next book ?. Maybe I'll send it to you in the coming days. . .

As for this, it reminded me of "Pan's Labyrinth" by Guillermo del Toro, a masterpiece of a film. If you haven't seen it, you should - along with "The Shape of Water", a beautiful one as well. What is it about your poems that remind me of films so much???

Whatever it is, it works.?
