I saw a Lady today

I saw a Lady today

I saw a lady today

as I walked along a sun lit road

She was walking towards me

neatly attired in a dark blue dress

She wore a straw hat with flowers

which nestled on the brim

She carried a closed parasol

which matched her floral

patterned dress

Her black laced shoes

were trim and suited her

overall demeanour

Her gait was most precise

There was a touch of

gentle elegance about her

with an air of quiet reserve

She held my undivided attention

as she passed by almost

oblivious to my presence

This was indeed an elderly

English Lady, unashamedly so

her figure blended into the local setting

of a tree lined avenue

which filtered the sun light

My day was made complete

to see this charming lady

For some reason I named her Alice

Welcome back to England Keith!! A lovely, charming portrait of a mysterious lady. Fascinating and bewitching.
I read it several times and love it

Ohh

I liked that Keith.

I enjoyed the flow and couldn't wait to find out what was coming, I was surprised and not disappointed when I eventually got to the end.

Alice is a fine name for any lady...

Cheers

A delightful portrait. And the name most suitable - an engaging creature of another world, almost fantasy.
