DOUBLE TALK

In Switzerland, strange to say, they don't find it a wrench

That one side of the place speaks Deutsch while the other side speaks French.

The people have long been accepting and it doesn't seem to jar -

That Teutonic tongue that says "I'm boss!" and the laid-back "Oo-la-la".

The centuries have surely played their part to see them get along

In those cantons where commerce is king and money can't go wrong.

In their business affairs - like those of the heart, a kiss is still a kiss,

With no cause for confusion connecting and pleasing any Swiss miss!

Thanks for the comments - and the "likes".
Becky -
Please don't think it's a chosen scruple
That sees me omit anything "quadruple".
In matters factual (from long ago),
I was taught to write only "what you know".
The voices you mention now have my attention
But I hope you'll forgive this poetical abstention.

Love it! Sorry to be a pedant but I'm waiting for Part 2 / "quadruple talk" so as not to upset the Italian and Rumantsch-speaking Swissy Missies... ?
