The Wiggly Apostrophe

We question the apostrophe

so often it's misused

Where to use it is the fault

of which it stands accused

Its possessiveness confusing

it's plurality abused

Its importance though behooves us

to figure out when it's used.

And predictive text always gets it wrong. However, I've got more important things to worry about.

I recall posting a poem on this subject a few years ago, but to summarise -
It's "its" when denoting possession
And it's "it's" when denoting progression (it is).
Even now many folk misuse the term(s), which may be
understandable in a moment of keyboard finger-slip or failure to proof-read before posting.
