Runner

And so you turn up,

From the past,

Asking me,

To be perfect,

Only I'm not,

Im a flawed diamond,

All my curves,

All my edges

So don't ask me to be

Perfect,

You did long ago

And then you chose her,

Over me,

And I can't help but feel,

That you think,

History will repeat itself,

And I shall fall

Again at your feet,

But know this,

I have lived many lives,

Since you,

And wore many a hat,

Waitress,

Office worker,

Teacher,

Factory worker,

Cleaner and such,

Mother, daughter,

Mistress,  wife

Ive even been,

The fantasy in

A guys dream

And you see Mr Runner,

Im not perfect,

But I have my pride and you,

Chose her for your bride,

So don't tell. Me what to do,

We were 17,

I was young,

And foolish,

I fell for your blue eyes,

Blonde hair,

But I have loved many since,

Some guys,

Some gals,

Know this,

Xx xxx

I will not fall for your charms again

Mr runner guy.

Best lines for me are
I'm not perfect. Don't tell me what to do.
Honesty is empowering.

Nicola,
Forgive me if my assumption of you is incorrect but this poem speaks of a woman of substance, of no messing, one who speaks directly.
Good for you
Thanks I felt empowered after reading this
