A Grey Blanket

A Grey Blanket

A hidden form shrouded in a world of drizzle

head and face veiled by a yellow sou´wester

Wellingtons and raincoat obscure shape or form

A sky laden with threatening clouds

an unbearable heavy dullness

A composer struggling with depression

a painter stares blankly at a canvas

Puddles catch a reflection

which distorts what is above

Beneath the covered head a

mind filled with depression broods

It is forever grey

unremittingly damp

unceasing rain

which enters the marrow

saturates any vestige of thought

An introverted soul

with no savour or light

only a grim endless time

amongst those dark satanic mills

Each line tells a story.
Sad and poetic.
