Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

For Timmy

Shall I compare you to a human friend?

You are more loyal and affectionate.

Rough words do often need amend

And sometimes friendship comes too late

Or may for others you forsake.

Moreover some expect too much

Which when you fail can friendship break.

Your love I know is never such.

Friends often can betray your trust

Revealing them as indiscreet

But you and I stand true till dust,

Or both by horrid worms are eat.

As long as I live, so shall you,

So time may keep our love anew.

I often write poems whenever one of my hens dies as I feel it helps to get it onto paper, even if they weren't human. So, if it is about a pet, well done. If not, well done. Either way - well done.?

Intriguing.
Is it a pet, an imaginary friend?
Read it three times, loved it.
