Courtyard In Snow

entry picture

Who tucked the world under
new sheets while we slept?
How loving,
even the cars looks peaceful
with their night caps on.
What can be said of such a perfect scene?
The cat peeking out hesitantly,
the little birds dusting their wings,
each know the slightest stroke

could spoil the canvas.
Wait here awhile before
you put your boots on
and go about restlessly
blackening the page.

It would seem that it snowed through out the night and the writer puts it so well describing an attire that covers a new day that must not be tempered with. Brilliant work of art.

A pleasing companion to my own recollection of gazing out of my window overlooking the street at 4am to see the
snow falling steadily in virginal white on a traffic free scene.

A snapshot of a winter world with its page unwritten. As if it is ready to start everything over, like spring.

Superb. Splendid start to the day.

Good morning Tom,

This has me thinking of a carefully created sketch which is systematically rubbed out over the course of a new day, destroying what had been already perfect.
