A Day in the Life

Wakened to the morning hush,

watch the daylight slowly push

and ding goes the phonio.

Breathing out and wafting by

motors on the roadway sigh

and ding goes the phonio.

Up our noses poison fumes

come seeping in our little rooms

and ding goes the phonio.

Source and cause of endless marvel

constant is our carnival

and ding goes the phonio.

Round a thinking loop I creep

keeping me from dreaming sleep

and ding goes the phonio.

Welcome is the happy note,

the short distracting anecdote

of ding goes the phonio.

That repetition and rhythm is subtly entrancing. Well done on conveying such a theme and carrying it in each stanza until the end.

The imagery is top notch as well.?
