"WE THREE THINGS"

entry picture

(The third in my Carols for a Brexit Christmas series)

We Three Things your obstacles are

Immigrants you’d like to debar

You also ignored a

Neighbour’s border

Thirdly, your bill so far.

Send them home to Poland today

This is why we voted that way.

Wait a second!

We never reckoned

Treeza would let them stay.

Ignorance we thought to be bliss

“Vote for Leave” not thinking of this.

Who’da thought the

Irish border

Was such an obvious miss?

Then, of course, the most bitter pill

We thought we’d leave – the cost would be Nil.

But obligations

To EU nations

Has incurred such a bill.

No matter, though. The offsetting plus –

The NHS which benefits us

Will get some millions

From these billions.

So says our big red bus.

Oh! Lying Johnson, lying Gove

What a web of lies they wove!

But you! You tit!

You fell for it

You never thought it through, by Jove!

Thast's excellent MC. I stumbled on rhymes for Brexit in my draft attempt and came up with "Cameron legs it", "sausage rolls at Greggs It..." but that was about it. Yours present added dimensions.

Oh - STOP it! You're getting me going now.
We wish you a Merrie Brexit
As we come to our exit...
To the voted departure from a federal EU
We wish you a Merrie Brexit
And just like bad sex it
May haunt and perplex but thought best when it's through!
😃
Over to you for your side of things...with that big guitar sound!

You've certainly found a very entertaining and topical
source of seasonal parody. Keep them coming, JC.
Meanwhile...
What is this "Primacy of Parliament"
That Remainers see as heaven-sent?
Where was it when they surrendered it then....
To foreign control beyond our ken.
