The Price of Freedom (much longer version)

entry picture

A ghostly image of a soldier

stood in the background,

the scent of lilac's filled the air

even though it was winter.

A Mother with a babe in her

arms stood by a grave site.

Lilac's were the flowers her

husband had given her before

he left for war. So she

felt his presence.

She whispered, "Father this

is your son. Son this is your

Father. He was awarded the

Medal of Honor posthumously."

"He sacrificed his life

to save others." She will

miss him but she will not

let his memory die.

Now they are alone but they will

survive.  She is a strong woman

and Her love will carry her

through. She will raise this child

without the aid of others.

This child will grow to be

a strong man, because his

Mother is a strong woman.
