it was always thus

no expensive follow up

only a flexing of witty repartee

and a firtation with responsibility.

 

He who plays the pipes must play the tune

but with the money for the jukebox always running out

I always twisted about

with a backward corkscrew motion

 

and left those ravers with their

pretended favours,

as sex on a shoestring never works out.
