Twas on this night in '80

I met 2 birds a tweeting 

A fateful day for maybe three

Cos these birds have been perched by me ever since 

Party, party I heard in a noisy pub

Me and my mate looked at each other with in for a penny smiles

So there we were in a packed flat just near by

One room to drink, one room to dance, one room to, well it was dark

First date so just rooms 1 and 2 for me

Twin birds are more than twice the fun

But let me tell you, best let them be one

As together they crackle like brilliant stars

And make life easy, happy and free

This year's been tough for my little birds and me

Sadness walked right in at the start of the year

But together we looked it straight in the eye

And squared our shoulders to this new found foe

And now the light shines bright at the tunnels end

I lucked in that hot May night

With two birds to sing with through my years

Life's been good cos "two hearts are better than one"
