to let somebody somewhere

has been saying.
I think the ducking stool should be re instated Paul, and not just for scolds, but for the male of the species . That would put entertainment back on the local map. I like the way your repetitions and synonyms collect together into a kind of overlay of gossip , a clever aim .
It takes a very strong character not to get drawn into this type of whirlpool. The press are of course superb at doing it and getting it all out there.
I could go on, but there are people watching.....

great poem Paul.Reminds me of two of my neighbours who I call 'tittle and tattle' The three of us get on very well though,and they laugh about my nicknames for them,whenever that is,they allow time for a laugh in between their gossiping.Speaking of which,I might change that to 'hot gossip'ers' although they are a tad old for sexy outfits! Thank you.Jemima.

I wonder if 'drinks' works just as good as 'drunks'. I rather like the idea of the drink spilling and causing all the trouble. I can't help but see you wagging your finger at these Someone Somewheres as you write this Paul.
