Four Limericks

As it is National Limerick Day, here are four limericks of mine.

Limerick #1

I murdered a woman named Stella

Her body is kept in the cellar

My alibi

Says I wasn't nearby

So it must have been some other fella

Limerick #2

A marathon runner named Mark

Went out for a jog in the park

He tripped on a log

And fell on a dog

Whose bite turned out worse than its bark

Limerick #3

A restorative stroll in the sun

Is a task that should daily be done

Here in the UK

It is best done in May

Between twelve and quarter to one

Limerick #4

I was ill, but it could have been worse

I was seen by a gorgeous young nurse

My proposal rejected

Instead I elected

To write of her beauty in verse

Hi Joe, have a weak spot for Limericks. Like no 2 especially!

Joe - personally I like no.3 for its observational humour, but all are worthy.

So National Limerick Day is today
No one let on down this way
Did they decide to keep quiet
Fearing a riot
By poetical nuts in May?

As for your excellent contributions, put me down for Number 2 as my own favourite of the four. I relish its
bite being worse than its barK!

Joe,
I love limericks, they are so thematically economical

I particularly like number four.
