Out driving

I was out with you yesterday

We were driving

And you were looking at women

You said you like blondes

It was great for a moment

Because you weren’t

Thinking about your troubles

You weren’t worried or anxious

The frown had gone and

You smiled

For a moment the future wasn’t black

You realised it’s not just orange

It’s purple, blue and green

Red, white and grey

Today the world is lemon

It’s your own kind of heaven

The worlds a cheesecake

Rich full and bright

Stand back and take a bite

Be not afraid old friend

Of your shadow

Of me

Of others

Of life

I haven’t got all the answers

Just a few

I’m not sorted

Life’s a puzzle

And we each are a piece

Which means we all belong

To make the picture complete

No matter what colour

Or flavour we are
