What can it contribute to enlightenment sense

If discussion's bedevilled with "giving offence"?

Dismissive of any alternative views

When mindsets take umbrage and simply refuse

To consider there may be a different way

To approach any question and allow folks a say

On the pros and the cons of how things might be...

And why they seem at odds with what others see.

There are times when what we prefer to believe

Needs reappraisal so as not to deceive;

When considering much more sometimes we must find

That we change our perspective - and then change our mind.
