Pink Lilly

Crisp and swift the north wind blows
Leaving only a note before she left long ago
He cried for days and had no words to explain
Spoke to mother.

Crisp and swift the north wind blows
Spring came, mom called saying this might be silly
Son, I need your help to plant these bulbs; he mutters really?
Planting bulbs with his mother

Warm and sweet the south wind blows
He first glanced upon her at the park near home
Mother said son come home for lunch?
Up to something are you mother?

Bright and hot the East wind blows…
The stems long and green with small buds shown
Mom says son, are you free next week?
All the while she smiles cheek to cheek.

Mother says son, there is someone I would like you to meet
The blooms were pink, her name was Lilly.

Warm and soft the West wind swirls... what a gift
a flower and a beautiful girl.

He loves his mother
