She was as real as blue bananas,

her profile made of ‘borrowed’ snaps,

with random words to fill a little space,

will it convince many, well just a few, perhaps…

 

But at the end where the the typing was done

sits a fat old guy who came from a slum

who uses false ID’s on a dozen sites a day

to pretend he is flirting in a feminine way…

 

Then a week or more later a plea comes by email

Can you please help me, as my sister is in hospital or jail

or maybe the story is of a handbag stolen away

leaving them with no means the hotel bill to pay…

 

These relationship scammers make a living that way,

and laugh at how easy their tricks are to play

on lonely men of any age group they choose

men who have no idea how much they’ll come to lose…

 

Yes the scammers are always going to catch one or two

with a long string of pleas and vague promises in view

that keep their victims with some kind of hope that they

will at last get to meet that dolly bird one fine day…
