WOL makes the SUNDAY EXPRESS letters page

entry picture

My last post described an article by its resident poet in last Sunday's "Sunday Express" - and I

emailed a considered reply.

Those at WOL and its supporters - but especially the excellent John Coopey - may be pleased to

know that today's edition of that national paper carried my letter (only slightly edited) - with references

to WOL and JC's wickedly funny "Ode To Roy" included..

Also - there was another letter from a lady in Sussex making some interesting points about the

control of much of what gets chosen as "poetry" these days. All in all, I thought my £1.40 for a

copy of the 'paper was money well spent today!!

Most gratifying to see poetry via WOL getting the well-deserved oxygen of national  publicity.

Whoa, MC! Mention in the Sunday Express! It won't be long before Eamonn Andrews is knocking on my door.
I am v flattered for the mention.

Hello Cynthia - welcome to WOL! I'm sure you will
find plenty of interest in the various forums -
there is much to enjoy, along with some healthy
and vigorous discussion/comment from all sorts
of viewpoints.

I read your letter and the poem Ode to Roy and the letter about what is 'poetry' today and that is what made me join writeoutloud
