Tales of Love and Hate

Tales of Love and Hate

     Some would say;

‘Losing, isn’t an option!’

But to cherish a victory,

You must first understand

The possibility of defeat,

     It’s a tough game

Where nothing is balanced

But if you play,

If you want the glory,

Be prepared to lose.

     It’s called Roulette,

And you can make a mint –

If your lucks in,

Alas, time is running out

To throw the pearl and gamble;

To pick your colour

Or blow it all on numbers,

     Don’t you know?

Have you not seen the warning signs?

     The balloon’s inflating with

More and more hot air,

And they’re daring who

Will push the last breath

Before ‘she’ pops,

For she can only

Stretch so far –

A forgiving texture

Of kindness,

And yet,

For all intents we’re

Kept blind and powerless,

     In truth,

There’ll be those

Who play the game,

There’ll be those who

Snarl across the table,

They’ll rattle sabres

And posture poses of aggression,

But all they’ll be compounding

Is regression,

     And it’s here,

Right here right now

When old glory takes

A bow,

     King of fools,

King of fools plays he,

And as the row continues,

Your babes are crying in your arms.

I enjoyed listening to this, beautiful dreamy music and your voice and way of speaking is pleasantly calming. What a great way to put out your thoughts about the tragic matters of life. (Will check out your other audios later.)
