Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

To Write a World

To Write a World

I wish I had the power to write a world,

And if I did,

     It wouldn’t be like here,

We wouldn’t be suffering like

We are now,

Of course,

I would write the many

Wildlife’s and flora,

Of course I would write

The many features –

The mountains, the forests,

The jungles, the seas,

    And yes; peoples!

But where it would differ,

The change I would write

To make our lives bigger,

The change that’s needed

In most folk who lose

All kindness and compassion,

     Would be to

Empathise greater with nature

To the point we ‘know,’

We cannot live without her!

Many changes I could make

If given this power,

And power it-self

Would have to be changed,

For here we seek it

In one form or another

But there,

     There, would be

Clear understandings

Of how it is managed,

For in this realm,

Many who come across

Its form only do damage –

And money; a thing

Of the past as we all work

For each other,

     Speaking of that,

Writing the words

Where change needs to be,

I would harness

In all – a deep rooted

Respect,

     An acknowledgement

That we are all here – the same,

And invigorate the life

Now missing ‘in’ living,

Where dignity and courage,

Honour and love,

Be the all we aspire to,

And sense in kindness

Be the way of our being.
