a thought somewhere in england, 2009

the globe is a paper lantern
and the moon a pale lunate shape
there are mouths that attempt to eat fire
and there are prettier ones that drink glasses of water
in parks i've been in there are sometimes ducks
fast moving bicycles that skid by moving feet
and single men with bad excuses to chat girls up
on the computer keyboard i like the numbers best
i like punctuation
and dogs from argentina
on walls wallpaper comes away, picked off
and blu-tack stays
and make-up smears on mirrors
and the best reflections you'll take with you; instant photographs - polaroids
after nights out I might be:
cold arms and no jacket
but a gracious, loved boyfriend, every three years or so
making ways and mazes
keeping huge fires stoked.

◄ we will talk about this sneeze more than others

Hi Enily, like your open mind thoughts here, like writing with an open piece of paper, scary but good if you can do it! Quick typo - it's there not their in this case, but really enjoyed the escapism cheers Jeff X
