breathing

entry picture

you breathe out

I breathe in

I breathe out

you breathe in

I decide….

not to breathe

so we stand

lip to lip

heart to heart

hip to hip

open my

eyes to see

your eyes

widening

why should I

give my breath

I can stop

when I want

as you wait

for oxygen

I see thoughts

behind your eyes.

I hold my breath…..

Only just found this and am very struck. For me, it's had the biggest difference between a straight read-through and the audio track of anything I've ever encountered on WOL. For those who skip the audio, make an exception for this one.

And I was just thinking this week - I wonder where Ann is - and there you are - poetical guns blazing - like some ancient Celtic sorceress.

Wow - I'm impressed - at your control as a poet and in your imagination.

I'd agree with Graham's words - highly sensuous!

This is quite simply a lovely piece Ann.
Both sensuous and hesitant. A wonderful mature story

Nice and brief Ann;great sense of anticipation in this one, especially in the last stanza,'as you wait for oxygen,I see thoughts behind your eyes. I hold my breath.'
