PAPER CHASE

Why do "they" knock the Daily Mail?

It enjoys a truly enviable sale.

Comedians at the BBC

Deride its name incessantly.

An expected way to get a laugh

When The Guardian provides the BBC staff.

Why do "they" make such a fuss

About its stance of "them and us"?

And its worry about a jobless nation

Facing uncontrolled immigration?

Is its stance to be abhorred

Objecting to rulers based abroad?

With Britain's voice in a minority of one

Easily outvoted and undone.

Instead of mocking the Daily Mail

Our sinking ship "they" had better bale.

And if you think I've gone to excess,

I confess I prefer the Daily Express!

'They' mock the Daily Mail because it spews out clumsy right-wing propaganda on a daily basis.

That's not an opinion btw, that's fact.

They don't sell i down my way but I'm addicted to the Telegraph Letters to the Editor page, and Matt cartoons and the cryptic crossword. The political pages don't get a look-in though.
Witty defense of the Mail. Enjoyed it.

I have to confess, MC, I'm not much of a paper reader, myself. I prefer the BBC website.
When I do buy one it's usually "i" - by far and away the best value.
