stay and cruise

(a holiday in two halves)

WEEK ONE

DAY ONE TO SIX…BARBADOES

Over liquored

Over fed

Fronded garden

Downey bed

Tiny sea-shore

Quite secluded

Luxurious

(And all-included)

DAY SEVEN …BARBADOES

In the deep places of the chest

Rumblings become manifest

And strikes the dreaded (rhyme–destroying) lurgey !!!

Visit to the Medical centre

diagnosis bronchitis

minimal treatment

shocked perusal of the bill

guilt-stricken retraction

of all unkind thoughts

ever entertained

against the N.H.S.

WEEK TWO

COUGHING AROUND THE CARIBBEAN

Outside…impossibly hot

Ship…air conditionally over-draughty

Bard:...Cough!…splutter!...hawk!...retch!...sneeze!...cough!

DAY FOURTEEN…AIRPORT

Bard…sets off on dismal  eight and a half hour cough across the Atlantic

(Okay, so it`s not very poetic, but why should I have to suffer alone?)

Should this be titled...
Sea Cruise - An Allergy?
I've always maintained that travel is merely a displacement of the body - and not always to its advantage.

It sounds utterly miserable Harry. Welcome home and I hope that you are now well.
