The Great Event is upon us

You’d better get yourself there;

September the 8^th from 10 o’clock -

Haddlesey Medieval Fayre

It’s kicking off with the Great Parade

Leaving the new village hall

Headed by Lady Godiva

Who’s wearing nothing at all!

Well, if you believe that you’re barmy

But nevertheless there’s a bar

With beer from the Brown Cow Brewery -

You’re welcome to sample a jar.

There’s craft stalls and stuff for the kiddies

And even an archery school,

A flying display of birds of prey,

(For the wife an old ducking stool!)

The day will be picture-book perfect;

It’s not that we’re wanting to boast

But the snap’s gonna be fantastic;

We’re getting a spit and hog roast.

And listen, the best part about it –

It’s FREE (the cheapest it’s been);

You’ll find us 6 miles from Selby,

South down the main A19.

So make the entry in your diary;

You’ll not want to miss us there;

Overlook us at your peril;

So be ye there or be ye square.
