TELL HIM - a lyric for all those Women in Country!

Tell him -

When you're feeling sad

Tell him -

When you're feeling bad

Tell him -

When you need his arms around you

Tell him -

That you need his love

Tell him -

You thank the stars above

For that precious day...

The day he found you

Never let the chance go by

To hold him close and tell him why

You need for him to stay

Every day and every nighttime

Let your heart dictate the right time

For love to light the way

Tell him -

That you're oh-so-glad

Tell him -

All the joy you've had

Tell him -

It's what you always knew

Tell him -

And let him tell you too.

JC - I don't know Billie Davis - and my various song lists make no reference to her...only the singers I mentioned elsewhere. But thanks for the interest and getting me to check!
Perhaps I could persuade Dolly Parton to make it a hit
with the right tune?!!!

I hope this works, MC. You old goat!
Whenever I do a poem for Our Gert she calls me a skinflint and demands to know "Where are the flowers?"
After further thoughts I'm thinking the Billie I recall was Billie Davis?
Certainly Jet Harris was a favourite of mine. The first record I ever bought was "Diamonds". Cost me 4/11d. (I play it rather badly on the geetar)

Aw heck MC, this could make even this dried-up old misogynist get all lovey-dovey.

Thanks Isobel - I wouldn't mind the likes of Tammy Wynette singing my lyric!

Funnily enough this reminded me of Tammy Wynette - 'Stand by your man' - not the words so much as the sentiment. It's a find sentiment if you can find one worth standing by ;)

Yvonne - Country songs have always had a rep. for being about love or doom and gloom. And since I much prefer to write "positive"....
JC - I certainly recall Jet Harris (of The Shadows) but admit to ignorance of that of which you speak. It is not unknown for songs to have the same title since there is no copyright on them. I must check - out of curiosity more than anything else. As for a tune - I'm working on it!

Hello MC,
I look forward to the music for this.
Didn't Billie wossaname (Jet Harris's girlfriend) do a number called Tell Him in the early 60's. (These kids won't remember that!)
