Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

For Riley

Riley is a little boy with a brain tumour. He is said to be terminally ill and his parents are hoping to take him away on a holiday of a lifetime. If you can spare a couple of quid, I have posted a link where you can donate to the fund that will hopefully see them in Disneyland Paris. Best wishes, Mike.

                                        For Riley

     A steady night,

A steady night at a steady pace,

No racing of the pulse –

No breathlessness for restless whims,

I’m studying a sky.

     Above beyond and beyond

Stars twinkle keeping secrets

Despite the openness of universe,

Keeping secrets yet,

Forever watchful while surrounding

All upon the Earth.

     The night remains while

Foraging are the nocturnal onlookers,

Searching the Heavens for answers

And hearing only echo’s,

     The night remains constant

And time seems never no meaning

In the blackness until;

You lose someone ‘adored,’

     And there; you’re looked upon

With kindness and with heart

By a universal host; – his children

Your children, our children,

Dancing in the twilight by his side –

And smiling;

Returns all answers upon

Our every woe,

     And then there is

No empty echo,

No distant expansiveness

Where all is lost,

Just this steady night –

Where children travel moonbeams

Within the warmth of Universal Love.

This is absolutely beautiful! If you want to, place the link and the poem in my wall in Facebook. This is my way of helping since I'm far away and because of other considerations.
