The Communications Trilogy Pt:2 Telegram

Hello again

The time has come to upload part two of my Communications Trilogy. This time the subject of my misery is the dreaded letter. A source of comfort and hope to some and a source of pain and anguish for others. As you may have guessed from part 1 I'm writing from the perspective of the pain and anguish people.

 I hope you enjoy it.

Click! Clack!
The letterbox rings throughout the flat.
Clump!
A weeks worth of post has arrived in one day, Again!

Elevating the shambolic pile
Sifting through envelopes of all sizes
Flat 1, flat 2, flat 3, next door
far too many for us today.

Taken upstairs a further sort continues
Bill, card, bill, junk, bill.... URGENT!
Heart skips a beat, probably junk but
What haven't I paid?

Finger slides under and tears wrecklessly
Red heading, this can't be good
Final Reminder, it reads
Where were the others?

A rambling mass of legal rubbish
get to the point...
You owe us four hundred pounds
This is an estimated bill

Heart sinks and rest of pile discarded
deflate on sofa
Work hard for a lifetime
To pay an institution

I'm going to have to call them
Another awkward confrontation
Reasoning with the unreasonable
My mind just signals
Dot Dot Dot Dash Dash Dash Dot Dot Dot
Dot Dot Dot Dash Dash Dash Dot Dot Dot
Dot Dot Dot Dash Dash Dash Dot Dot Dot
Dot Dot Dot Dash Dash Dash Dot Dot Dot
