Our Guest Poet

'Wols own, Best of Manchester poet 'Laura Taylor'

Laura's poetry pulls no punches, hard hitting bullys that disenfranchise and abuse; sensitivity for the souls of those trampled on is the yin to the yang. The woman who cannot speak gains a voice and so too does the common man.

Slipping the noose of being pinned down to any one theme Laura's poetry has dealt thematically with bullets, escape and childhood. It has been known to leap wildly across the conceptual landscape of 'Space' and recently won a tidy £200 prize in the Grenheart poetry competition.

Our Guest Musician

Singer Songwriter, Merry Hell musician 'Bob Kettle'

Bob has travelled across Europe with his music, mandolin, guitar and harmonica. He was a key member in the much loved Wigan band the Tansads; a band so big at one time that they were supported by The Verve, Pulp, Cast and Kula Shaka- WOW!

Bob Dylan is amongst this Bob's influences and certainly lyrics are a a big part of Bob's music, as is a warm human outlook upon life.

The Kettle family were at the heart of the Tansads and they have come together and formed a brilliant new band Merry Hell. Check out Bob and Merry Hell;

If you travel from afar, we will accommodate and make sure you get a good chance to read at a time that allows you to make any travel arrangements back home.

Everyone who attends can read- open set, inclusivity is everything!

It's going to be an amazing night!

We'd love to see you and hear you read- join us!

We will be video recording poets and musicians reads/performances (if they want) in high definition 1080p. This is something that can be added to Youtube or facebook pages. A very fancy camera will also do a lot of clicking. If anyone does not wish to be filmed or photographed- no problem.
