God is looking for action

God is looking for action,

Act,

take steps,

pray,

write a book or a manuscript.

It might make you woozy,

to sign a pact with the devil,

blind panic.

But take that first step,

peeling rust off steel,

deciding you can do it.

Then gaze blankly,

fall asleep,

queue,

lean against a bar,

break a figurine,

take a life,

go out without your umbrella,

play the violin,

feel the iciness on your cheeks.

I like this because i like a poem that makes me think.
I feel you could find a better way of saying this 'It might make you woozy,'
Id be interested, Emma-Jane in what you think abut my poem Crown of Thorns.

Good (and fair) `modern style` poem that has enough communicative `clues` in it to get past the usual bewilderment.

(TO ME) All referred to God: So...serious.
The first stanza is: call to act
The second: deliberation
The third: Whatever the reason, no act
The fourth: A listnessness as ordinary
life kicks in again. (`take a life` is a
bit harsh)
The final line is frozen disappointment.

It could refer to (`temporary?`) failure, but the first line implies a moral duty shirked or
failed.

can`t figure why the devil is in the second stanza -unless the `act` is dangerous.

Anyway, Emma Jane, thanks for giving enough meat to chew on.

I really like this; reads like a squash exercise, the ball rapid fire bamming against the wall, with style. I did wonder at the casual 'take a life' between 'break a figurine' and 'go out without an umbrella', but it is eye-opening. IMO, this is an original 'list poem'.

Consider sorting out your use of capitals, so that your intent is clear. Maybe 'Act' needs full capitals, like a strong order.
