Life in the Mad House

entry picture

I wake up much too early

and find I can’t sleep on,

then I realise

there’s something

under my neck,

something smelly.

I pull it out,

it’s a meaty dog treat

Benji buried

under my pillow

yesterday,

now broken in two.

I pull out the other piece

and drop them on the floor,

but what with the awful

meaty smell

and Colin’s snoring,

the spare room bed

seems a very good idea.

On the one night

he hadn’t got there first…

Snore? Me?

Never!

And that darned dog

will have to go!

Cute and catchy. Those little moments always reflect the big picture, don't they? Especially our own personalities. Poetry is so 'telling'! I've always thought you must be a delightful person to know.

aw Lynn!
how can you even think
of getting rid of a dog
with eyes like that.

I know you don,t mean it
but just in case,
I,ll be ready for his collection!
