-----

Take your writing and performance to a higher level on this inspiring residential course for open-mic poets at the voluptuous Lumb Bank, Ted Hughes’ house at Heptonstall above the dramatic Calder Valley.

Arvon Foundation runs year-round writing courses there, and has teamed up with Write Out Loud, hub of the UK open-floor/open-mic poetry scene, for this exciting course.

The open-mic poetry scene is booming. Each month over 500 events are listed on our gig guide, places where you can have your writing appreciated and be inspired by others. It’s a kind of aural publishing. This course enables you to spend time improving your work so as to present it at its best.

Tutors are Francesca Beard ("The Queen of British performance poetry” - London Metro), Write Out Loud founder and slam veteran, Julian Jordon with Radio 4’s Elvis McGonagall our midweek guest tutor.

Generous subsidies from both Arvon and Arts Council mean that, at £385, it is around £200 less than the usual fee, for all tuition, accommodation and food.

Thanks to cancellations we now have three places available. Email  julian@writeoutloud.net. More info: http://www.writeoutloud.net/public/slams.php?slamid=23

Am I missing something or doesn't this say when it is?
