These young rioters have no shame!

Didn’t do that in our day!

Let’s cut all their benefits,

Let’s make them all pay!

 

But once they have no money,

How then will they pay?

They’d only loot and pillage,

There’d be no other way.

 

We all feel sorry for the shopkeepers,

None of it’s their fault.

But to deal with these nasty thugs,

Common sense needs to be sought.

 

Some say it’s the parents, they’re too soft,

Or else they just don’t care.

Others blame the economy,

There’s a bigger picture out there.

 

No jobs and no prospects for the young

Can not be a healthy state,

But to be brought up with no respect

Just leads to unbridled hate.

 

Many a debate’s been argued.

Which is really true?

But am I the only one to think?

It’s a combination of the two!

 

Not that this excuses them,

There is really no excuse.

I'd send them to fight in Afghanistan

But I'm afraid they'd be no use!
