Nothing Is Ugly In The Dark

Whats the night for anyway?

                         - Marilyn Monroe

All light is ominous.

Shadows have no standards.

See them drub and chumble

Reflections of better days.

Because nothing is ugly

In the dark.

Physical vision

Is a product of closure.

When darkness is multiplied

The numbers are wonderful.

Forty layers of shade

And a jealous Hades.

But what is the reason

For the concept of night?

For most of us

Night and day means only

A different colour outside

Great ideas given vibrant new life through your personal words - a driving passion for a poet. And I think Marilyn Monroe was a very clever woman. Who knows what she had to navigate through.

I see you must be another insomniac then. I like this one - it did set me off thinking, which is good.

You could also ask, what is the point of vision? Many of us find it difficult finding a partner we are attracted to. If we were all blind, our choices would be magnified. We would all just be varying sizes of skin and bone. The only important thing would the words - the personality - which ties in neatly to your title, which I love.

This is very interesting Kealen. I think that the dark is more worrying than the light. Maybe that's just me! Good poem anyway!
