The Unseen Shadow

Nothing but a shadow now
That cannot be seen by the eye
And others that never knew her
See not she passes by
And walks the fields of her youth
So different in her day
Where she lost in war the one she loved
And afterwords pined away.

Yes, a lovely corpse she made
Dead when young and in her prime
How cruel is it that God He says
That now it is their time.
But did she not upon her death
Meet her love on the other side
Whydoes she walk to meet him here
When both of them have died?
Lady shadow who walks unseen
Tous for prayers she calls
And we are blind to her pain
As she walks through our walls.

Hauntingly beautiful. With your words, you paint a gentle ghost hoping to reach the void for her love, but instead she stays with us, walking through the walls we keep in our lives. :)

Hi Tomas, you've captured a spooky chilling, yet sweet feeling here, nice one Jeff

oh that is very moving to me, a really poignant happening which many have had touch their lives, (including me), which you have deeply, skilfully captured in verse. I love this poem! Thanks for sharing it.
