Vintage Heart

entry picture

You tear to shreds

My already frayed edges.

A patch worked rescue attempt.

There is little strength found

in the weakness of this cloth.

Once adorned, a sequined delight

Still a shimmer in the right light

Restore to former glorious glamour.

Flat Iron this crinkled mess

wear with a vintage heart.

◄ Child's perspective

The edges of sadness ►

Lovely little poem Rachel, why don't you come down and give us a poem or song or two sometime? Jeff X

Wonderful poem with a gorgeous turn of phrase: "vintage heart", "sequinned delight" and "glorious glamour".

This is very good. 'former glorious glamaor' really sparkles. I love the photo too. Is it De Haviland? I do recognize the famous profile, from the 1930's maybe, but not sure of the name. Eyebrows nearly to her earlobes.

particularly like the reference to 'A patch worked rescue attempt' here, Rachel but i like the full piece and i think you've got it about the right length too.. x
