Lonely Friend

I take it you don’t want to be here anymore

Your life will be much shorter than we thought

And as you put the last one in your mouth

You don’t give a thought to anyone else!

Has it come down to this my lonely friend?

Is life not treating you well again?

I take it you don’t want to suffer anymore

You’re not so carefree as we thought

And as you put the last one in your mouth

You think you’re so much troubled than everyone else!

Has it come down to this my lonely friend?

You’ll regret leaving in the end

To be reincarnated into someone else’s lonely friend

The vicious circle is spinning again

Why don’t you stay its the same on the other side

The only difference is you won’t have your pride!

We all have to suffer some of the time, even an artist must lose his sight, even a writer loses inspiration, the world is full of requiem and lamentation!

It isn’t time to go, my lonely friend

Give yourself, time to mend

Loneliness is bliss

Enjoy a woman’s kiss

Richard, I'm pretty sure you could save lives with these words. They should be on a wall in any office used for counseling. Very well written

Hi Richard, thanks for comment, I was in Blackburn last night for New Model Army!

Just catching up with stuff and glad to see you've contributed another wonderful thoughtful poem that would mean something to anyone who was at rock bottom. Having just come through some nighmare times, I can really identify with this, its from the heart, and very deep, just up my street!! Cheers Jeff

ps I will be putting some stuff on soon!!

Childproof tops have always foiled me from taking the last one. A good plea to a friend not to end it.

Promiscuity! Really. Whatever next?
I don't even know you Mr. Brooks. (except on a web-site. Very intricate in design and full of little holes to poke your finger into.) Or perhaps to count.
