Mother Earth

entry picture

Mother Earth I hear your scream,

every cell of your body is rooted in me.

You gave us your seeds to plant a house,

you gave us your lap to create art,

you gave us organs to build a temple.

You gave us a heart to open it wide,

you gave us arms to embrace your grace,

you gave us hands to caress your children,

you gave us feet to walk your paths.

You gave us eyes to see your beauty,

you gave us ears to listen to your music,

you gave us voice to sing your melody,

you gave us skin to feel your rhythm.

You gave us fire to ignite your willingness,

you gave us rain to water your feelings.

You gave us wind to spread your message,

you gave us space to hold us in place.

You gave us your sky to play with the stars,

you gave us your Moon to cherish our dreams,

you gave us your Milky Way to design our gardens,

you gave us many timelines to breath your essence.

You gave us your clouds to draw rivers and seas,

you gave us your rainbow to paint fields of flowers,

you gave us your axis to climb hills and mountains

you gave us your crown to build up a throne.

You gave us your Sun to warm our winters,

you gave us a Kingdom of heavens to flourish and grow,

we gave you pain and sorrow.

You gave us your womb to generate joy and love,

we expressed envy and hostility,

you gave us your forests to foster gratitude and wow,

we converted them into borders, deserts, and starvation.

Mother Earth I hear your scream,

every cell of your body is rooted in me,

we exploited your fuels in separation and duality,

your heartbeat is no longer a melody.

Remembering your gifts,

rejoining to your gentleness,

closing down the battlefields,

abandoning the fears,

surrendering to your warmth,

my soul can find peace and tranquility,

the glory of my spirit can shine in a quiet mind,

my actions can create a temple in resonance and alignment with you.

Mother Earth; “my pride and ego” bow down to your “ether and intelligence,”

so, the “I AM” can build a new home for humanity.

With Love,

The wandering stars of the soul.

Wow, me too, I LOVE this poem. A gem in an island of despair. There is hope, if humanity so choses. The last stanza blends it all powerfully together: "Mother Earth; “my pride and ego” bow down to your “ether and intelligence,” so, the “I AM” can build a new home for humanity."
I thank you and Mother Earth thanks you, Matilda!

A beautiful poem, Matilda. It showcases the depths of nature and gratitude towards mother earth for her creation. It also speaks of how us humans have disappointed her in return.
Thank you for this.
