Digging Holes

They said when I was younger

Automation would be the thing

The robots would do the heavy lifting

While we could play and sing

But now I’m older and the world is greyer

I dunno who’s at the controls

‘Cause the robots are writing poetry

And I’m still digging holes

Very funny and too darn true.

Heard an AI 'expert' the other day suggest becoming artists was the answer to what all these unemployed people can do because of AI.

Sure I've heard that before...

Well done, Steve. The best comedy has a serious message.

Thanks Steve,
Increasingly frequently, I have to tell myself to stop digging; but then robot-like, I carry on writing!

Not many poems make me laugh but this one did.
